Stay with the Trouble Feminist Leadership – Module 2

DKK 12,500.00

From feminist leadership to feminist leadership practice

It is one thing to recognise power, norms and the structures we are part of.

It is another to know what to do about them.

Stay with the Trouble is the second module of our Feminist Leadership programme. A three-day leadership course where we move from understanding to practice and explore how you can bring a feminist perspective into the reality of your everyday leadership.

This is where things become more concrete. More personal. And perhaps a little more uncomfortable.

What do you do when your values meet the pressure of everyday work?

When a decision has to be made quickly?

When conflict appears?

When some people take up too much space and others too little?

When care and performance seem to pull in opposite directions?

When you understand the power dynamics in the room – but still have to decide what to do next?

This is where feminist leadership gets interesting.

Build your own feminist leadership toolbox

There is no single right way to be a feminist leader.

So these three days aren't about giving you another leadership model to follow.

Instead, we work on expanding your repertoire as a leader.

You bring real situations from your own professional life into the room. Together, we examine them, challenge your habitual responses and experiment with different ways of acting.

We work with:

  • power and power dynamics in practice

  • difficult conversations and conflict

  • care, boundaries and responsibility

  • decision-making and participation

  • psychological safety and belonging

  • facilitation and inclusive processes

  • your own patterns and blind spots as a leader

  • systemic leadership and the consequences of our decisions

The aim isn't to collect as many tools as possible.

It is to have more possibilities available to you when leadership becomes difficult.

Stay with the Trouble

When something becomes difficult, our instinct is often to solve it quickly.

Find the answer. Make the decision. Resolve the conflict. Move on.

But leadership isn't always about making complexity disappear.

Sometimes we need to stay with it a little longer.

To understand what is actually happening.

To listen to perspectives that don't immediately fit together.

To notice the power in the room.

To resist the temptation to simplify something just because complexity makes us uncomfortable.

To accept that conflicting needs can exist at the same time – and only then decide how we want to act.

That is what we mean by Stay with the Trouble.

It doesn't mean avoiding decisions.

It means becoming more conscious of what is happening before we make them.

Three days of practice – not just theory

Module 2 is built around practice.

We use real cases, exercises, reflection, feedback, facilitation and experimentation.

You will have the opportunity to try different approaches in a space where you don't need to have the right answer the first time.

We work directly with your own leadership practice – particularly the moments when your intentions and your actual behaviour don't quite match.

You might believe deeply in participation and still take over when time is short.

You might value care and still avoid a difficult conversation.

You might want everyone to have a voice and still notice that the same people keep speaking.

You might understand your own power and still struggle with how to use it.

Those gaps aren't failures.

They are where the practice begins.

The goal isn't perfection.

The goal is to become more aware of the choices you make – and to have more ways of responding available to you.

From seeing to acting

Module 1 of Feminist Leadership is about learning to see.

Power. Norms. Structures. Relationships. Blind spots. And your own position within them.

Module 2 is about learning to act.

What do you do with what you can now see?

How do you have the conversation?

How do you facilitate the meeting differently?

How do you make a decision when people's needs conflict?

How do you use your power consciously rather than pretending it isn't there?

And how do you continue practising when the organisation around you doesn't change overnight?

Stay with the Trouble is where we begin turning awareness into practice.

Who is this course for?

The course is for leaders, team leads, project managers, HR and People & Culture professionals, consultants, facilitators and changemakers who already have a foundational understanding of feminist leadership and want to work more practically with their own leadership.

Feminist Leadership – Module 1 is the natural foundation for this course.

If you haven't taken Module 1 with LYNG but already have substantial experience working with feminist leadership, power and organisational structures, talk to us before registering. We'll help you assess whether Module 2 is the right place to join.

You don't need to arrive as a perfect feminist leader.

There is no such thing.

You need to arrive willing to practise.

What will you take with you?

You will leave with your own feminist leadership toolbox: practical methods, new perspectives and different ways of working with power, relationships, conflict, care and decision-making.

But perhaps more importantly, you will become better at noticing what is happening while it is happening.

At pausing before the automatic response.

At recognising what is happening in the room – and what might be happening beneath the surface.

At choosing how you want to use your power.

At knowing when to act and when to listen a little longer.

And at staying with difficulty long enough for another possibility to emerge.

Because feminist leadership isn't something you complete.

It is something you practise.

Language

LYNG is an international learning environment, and our open courses are facilitated in English as standard.

For programmes designed exclusively for Danish participants, we can facilitate the full course in Danish.

We also facilitate Feminist Leadership in Spanish for programmes in Spain and Latin America.

For programmes in Germany and Japan, we work in English and can arrange professional interpretation when needed.

If you are considering bringing Stay with the Trouble or the full Feminist Leadership programme to your organisation or country, talk to us. We can explore the format and language that make sense for your group.

Bring Feminist Leadership to your organisation

Module 1 and Stay with the Trouble can also be designed as a longer Feminist Leadership journey for your organisation, leadership team or network.

We can work with your own cases, culture and organisational reality, giving participants time between modules to experiment with their leadership practice and bring what they discover back into the next part of the programme.

Because changing how we lead doesn't happen in three days.

It happens in what we do afterwards.
